    I wanted very much to push myself in painting outside during the winter. This was done nearly entirely on location, during several different painting sessions. The coldest was 6 degrees, another was 8 degrees and another 12 degrees outside. But with little or no wind, and in the afternoon sunshine, it was very pleasant, especially with my new alpaca hat, warm mittens and warm boots. 

    I really enjoyed the experience of working up this painting and I like the result.
